Farmers Markets return to the South Shore

It is time for farmer's markets to return to South Lake Tahoe and Stateline, the first two set to start Friday, June 3.

On Friday, the popular Ski Run Blvd market opens for their seventh season at 3:00 p.m. Food, crafts, fruit and vegetables will be featured in the middle of the block in front of Blue Angel Cafe. This market will be on all Fridays from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. through September 30. For more information, visit their website www.skirunfarmersmarket.com.

Also on Fridays is the Lake Tahoe Farmer's Market at Kahle Park on Kingsbury Grade in Stateline. Their selection of Nevada vendors will be set up for the public between 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. every Friday from June 3 through September 30. Their website also shows their other markets in Incline Village (Thursday evenings) and Carson City (Wednesday evenings) - www.laketahoemarkets.com.

The biggest market on the South Shore is held on Tuesdays started June 7, and will run through October 11. Their El Dorado County certified produce will be joined with other local vendors that provide everyone from bread and breakfast to exotic foods, soap and gifts. This market opens at 8:00 a.m. and closes at 1:00 p.m. at the American Legion at 2748 Lake Tahoe Blvd. Their website: www.eldoradofarmersmarket.com.

South Tahoe Now will be visiting these markets and trying out recipes made from purchases, and we'll be sharing them with readers.
