South Lake Tahoe's Blue Ribbon Choir to join Foreigner on stage

South Lake Tahoe's Blue Ribbon Choir will be joining British-American rock icons, Foreigner, on the MontBleu stage Saturday evening.

Several month ago the band, famous for such hits as "I Want to Know What Love Is,""Feels Like the First Time," "Cold as Ice," and "Hot Blooded," contacted Dave Davis of MontBleu about their desire to have a local choir join them on stage during their South Shore show.

Davis contacted Paul Kushner, the Blue Ribbon Choir director, to see if his group would be interested.

He said "yes!"

Beach Boys, Boz Scaggs and Foreigner highlight MontBleu's concert lineup

Concert lovers don't have to wait for summer to enjoy big name acts in South Lake Tahoe. MontBleu announced the addition of Grammy-Award winning singer-song writer Boz Scaggs to their line-up of classic musicians performing in their showroom.

Scholarship programs a big success at Lake Tahoe Community College

The numbers are in: Lake Tahoe Community College’s scholarship program had its most successful year ever in 2012/13, helping more students to reach their academic goals than ever before. In June 2013, the college handed out $81,000 in scholarship dollars: the most in the college’s history.

All of those dollars will help 66 LTCC students to continue their education, providing much-needed funds to cover the costs of tuition, textbooks, and other resources necessary to academic success.
