Letter: Owner of Sessions grateful for the South Lake Tahoe community

After living here for over 42 years and working/owning Sessions Salon for 34 of those years, I have never been so grateful to be here.

Watching the extreme loss of life in our country has been heartbreaking, to say the least. Not having full access to our grandkids is painful but nothing compared to what people in many cities in the country have dealt with.

Free virtual workshops on growing vegetables in Lake Tahoe

Get prepared for the upcoming gardening season by participating in upcoming virtual Grow Your Own High Elevation Gardening workshops hosted by UC Davis TERC, UCCE Master Gardeners of Lake Tahoe, and Slow Food Lake Tahoe.

Fire Fest 2018 - Saturday, September 29, 2018, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the rear parking lot of the Hard Rock Casino Lake Tahoe. Admission is free and it's a great opportunity for families to have fun while learning about fire safety and conservation. Tahoe Arts Project holds 6th annual Dancing With the Tahoe Stars

Ten local members of the South Lake Tahoe community will be demonstrating their dancing skills on Saturday, March 3 at the 6th annual Tahoe Arts Project Dancing with the Tahoe Stars in the MontBleu Showroom starting at 6:30 p.m.

Master of Ceremonies for the evening will once again be Dreu Murin.

Ten locals have been paired with ten dancers to perform various styles of dance including Cha Cha, Tango, Salsa, Merengue, Swing, Disco, Fox Trot, Bachata, Hip Hop and Musical Theater.

Easter egg hunts and brunches in South Lake Tahoe

Holiday fun starts on Friday and goes through the weekend with Easter Egg Hunts and brunches.

Tot Egg Hunt at Kahle Community Park- Friday, April 14 - Sponsored by the Tahoe Douglas Firefighter's Association. Tot Egg Hunt is an Extra special day for Family Fun! The Easter Bunny will be hiding eggs outside and you can climb on fire trucks. Come inside and enjoy the bounce house, indoor playground, and refreshments. Bring a basket to collect eggs and a camera for an EGGciting day! Hunt begins at 11:00 AM.

Easter Egg Hunt planned by Lake Valley Fire Department

Lake Valley Fire Protection District is holding their 2nd annual Community Easter Egg Hunt on Sunday, April 16 at Tahoe Paradise Park. 10,000 eggs will be hidden at the park and the Easter Bunny will be there for free photos. There will also be a fire truck and special Golden Eggs with prizes.

Parking at the park is limited so it is suggested everyone plans on arriving at 9:30 a.m. for the 10:00 a.m. hunt.

Storyteller Juanita Westbrook at Dangberg Historic Park

Family activities all day long on July 4th in South Lake Tahoe

Well before the fireworks are set off above Lake Tahoe at 9:45 p.m. on Saturday, families will be able enjoy a plethora of activities along the South Shore.

The day starts off with the Annual South Lake Tahoe 4th of July Parade at 10 a.m. The procession will start at the SLT Recreation Center, to Highway 50 and down to Cardinale Way past the "Y." It will be over by 11 a.m.

South Lake Tahoe new home hunting experience filmed for HGTV's House Hunters

A home search in South Lake Tahoe will be the subject of an upcoming episode of HGTV's House Hunters.

Travis and Morgan Fields of Oakland, CA were working with Chase International Realtor Angie Clark when the couple contacted the television show about their home search being part of the popular show.

All three of them had to fill out questionnaires and send in audition tapes.

“The audition tape was a little daunting,” Angie said. “My husband filmed it for me and it took a few tries. We submitted the video and just thought that would be the end of that.”

Texas Hold'em Tournament to Benefit Tahoe Youth & Family Services

Enjoy a night of playing poker with your friends while helping support Tahoe Youth & Family Services. A Texas Hold'em tournament is going to be held at Lakeside Inn on Tuesday, October 1 at 6 p.m. Beginners and skilled players are welcome as there will be fun for all.

LTCC Theater Arts presents 'Around the World in 80 Days'

Tahoe Improv Players at the Tallac Historic Site

Plunge into Lake Tahoe For a Good Cause

Teams of super heroes, penguins, pirates and other characters jumped into Lake Tahoe last winter, and on March 17, they’ll do it again. You’re invited to join them as Special Olympics Northern California and Nevada co-host Polar Plunge® 2012 at Zephyr Cove, South Lake Tahoe. The event is open to all and will include entertainment, a costume contest, and prizes, as well as Special Olympics athletes, coaches, and volunteers who will share their experiences with the organization’s inspiring programs.

Valentine's Dance with the Tahoe Dance Band

The Tahoe Improv Players at Valhalla Arts, Theatre & Music Festival

The Tahoe Improv Players, the longest running comedy show in Lake Tahoe, return to their favorite theater for the 17th summer. As always, their show is fast paced, unique, funny and fun for all ages. 7:30 p.m. at the Valhalla Grand Hall. Proceeds form this evenings performance will benefit the Tahoe Tallac Association.
