Things to do in the South Lake Tahoe area this weekend

Fire Fest 2018 - Saturday, September 29, 2018, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the rear parking lot of the Hard Rock Casino Lake Tahoe. Admission is free and it's a great opportunity for families to have fun while learning about fire safety and conservation. Genoa Candy Dance is Saturday and Sunday, September 29 & 30, 2018. The 2018 Genoa Candy Dance Faire will be open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. each day and is FREE for visitors who attend. A number of special events occur throughout the year in Genoa. None are bigger than the Annual Candy Dance Arts & Crafts Faire which has over 300 craft and food vendors and draws thousands of people to Genoa during the two-day event.

The Tahoe Dance Band Big Band Dance is at the South Lake Tahoe Senior Center on Friday, September 28 at 7:30 p.m. All ages invited! Listen and/or dance to the great music of The 17-piece Tahoe Dance Band at the South Lake Tahoe Senior Center, on the last Friday of each month. 7:30-10:00 PM. Appetizers, Wine, Desserts, Big Band Dancing, Door Prizes and Fun for All. All ages welcome! $10 per person at the door. It is not necessary to come with a partner. Admission includes appetizers, desserts, beverages, and a free door prize ticket. Those under 21 are only $5.

Concerts: Graham Nash is at MontBleu Resort on Saturday, September 29. The Little River Band is at Harrah's Tahoe on Sunday, September 30. Skynnyn Lynnyrd, a Lyndard Skynard tribute band is at MontBleu Resort on Sunday, September 30.

The Kinsey Sicks Comedy-Musical Troupe at the Loft Theatre on Friday, September 28 from 9:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Off-Broadway stars, The Kinsey Sicks, return to The Loft Theatre, September 26-28, 2018, with their new show "Things You Shouldn't Say"! America’s Favorite Dragapella Beautyshop Quartet treats us to an evening of politics, personal secrets and plain old raunch – and all in glorious four-part harmony! Through exciting original songs and truly evil parodies, THE KINSEY SICKS plan to leave no sacred cow standing (don’t ask).
