Sentell said that even though a bat was present it wasn't used on the victim.

Gangs are a problem in South Lake Tahoe

South Lake Tahoe may be a small city of around 23,000 residents but it isn't immune to the big city problems of gangs.

Our mountain hamlet has white gangs, a black gang, hispanic gangs, motorcycle gangs and even white supremacists and sometimes they cross racial lines in order to beef up numbers. The gang names won't be mentioned in this article because of the advertising value it would give them as they try and recruit children and new members.

Last week's arrest of three gang members for a home invasion robbery brought the comment to the forefront..."Tahoe has gangs?"

Skibum column: Getting stuck in the traffic of life

If the TTD took the $70 Million that they say it will cost to build the loop road and fix up the area they would still have enough over to give us a free bus system like most of the other resort towns. They are not alleviating any traffic flows or amount of cars only diverting them faster to Nevada. How is diverting the traffic helping the traffic situation, we will still have the same amount of cars on the road. I have said this before about other things done to us by our Government agency’s doing what’s best for them and us(mostly them).

Movie Review: '21 Jump Street' more basic teen fare but enough laughs to be a winner for all

The action-comedy film "21 Jump Street," currently playing at the Horizon Stadium at Stateline, Lake Tahoe, may seem a little familiar to those who saw the teen comedy "Project X" recently. And for good reason, the writer for both films was Michael Bacall. There's much of the same in both films, high school affairs drugs and teen mammoth parties.

Movie Review: 'Contraband' a so-so thriller with Mark Wahlberg as macho-in-chief

The action-thriller "Contraband," now playing at the Hollywood Horizon Stadium in Stateline, stars Mark Wahlberg as Chris Farraday, a reformed former ace smuggler living in New Orleans with with wife Kate (Kate Beckinsale) and two sons (largely ignored) making home burglar alarms as a business.
