The audience laughs and then the actors do it again, and the audience laughs again…you get the picture. And so it will go during a night of improvisation theater with Tahoe Improv Players at the Tallac Historic Site on July 3 at 7:30pm.
The Tahoe Improv Players, the longest running comedy show in Lake Tahoe, return to their favorite theater for the 15th summer.

Twenty-three teen and four chaperones from the Bureau of Jewish Education of Greater Phoenix volunteered Thursday at the Evans Family Garden and pitched-in with the Tahoe Resource Conservation District's (TRCD) efforts at the garden. Tahoe City-based Truckee River Rafting opened Tuesday, June 12. Truckee River Raft Company, also in Tahoe City, opens today, Thursday, June 14. The companies offer self-guided, five-mile floats down the Truckee River.

Although they are still an unfortunate rarity, more green gyms are popping up in the United States. They are considered green because their carbon footprint is much lower than the typical huge box gym packed with walls of televisions, rows of cardio equipment (which also have a whole additional slew of TVs), and thousands of tons of carbon-unfriendly stationary equipment. These green gyms tend to be smaller, with the primary carbon footprint generating from their electric usage. Just one treadmill can use anywhere from 500 watts to 1 kilowatt per hour while in use.

The Meyers Summer Solstice Celebration “Fire” will take place on June 23, from 2-6 p.m. at 3170 Highway 50 in honor of the 5th anniversary of the Angora Fire.  Face painting, local culture and music will set the stage. More than a thousand cyclists peddled their way through South Lake Tahoe on a breezy Thursday afternoon to break a Guinness Book of World Record by forming the longest single file line of bicycles.
Organizers said nearly 1,200 bicyclists had signed in by the 4 p.m. start time. Many cyclists were clad in costumes and face paint, all in the spirit of fun. The South Lake Tahoe bicycle group Slow Rollers has sponsored the second annual Spirit Bike Parade Thursday and its attempt to break the world record by forming the longest single line of bicycles. The record is held by the City of Davis of 916 bicycles. With nearly 1,200 cyclists on board Thursday, it looked promising that the record would be broken, said Richard Cutright, one of several event coordinators.

Today is the day: South Lake Tahoe bicycle group Slow Rollers is asking the community to come out to its second annual Spirit Bike Parade today and an attempt to break the Guinness Book of World Records by forming the longest single line of bicycles.
