The Lead Safe Worker 8-hour training for Renovators, Repair and Painters is being offered at LTCC campus on June 30th, July 20th, August 4th, and September 14th. The cost to attend the training is $50 and up to two workers from each local company are welcome to participate.
Meyers celebrates Summer Solstice with community gathering

Face painting, local culture and music will set the stage. This free and public family-centered event is designed to bring together the healing, artistic, and recreational cultures of Lake Tahoe in a community street fair that highlights the Washoe ancestral land that is centered on the “sacred giver of life,” Da ow a ga (Lake Tahoe).

This year's crop of organic produce will find its way to South Lake Tahoe beginning June 5 and extend throughout summer at the American Legion Hall parking lot and Fridays starting June 22 on Ski Run Boulevard.
The Certified Farmers' Market will run from 8 a.m to 1 p.m. each Tuesday through Oct. 9 at the American Legion Hall parking lot. Produce is picked within hours of market days and visitor can talk directly to the farmer and learn about new varieties of fruits and vegetables and farming practices.

Over the past three years, a South Lake Tahoe family and a youth art group called the Sphere of Influence have been painting dozens of the bland green boxes, trash bins and concrete walls. Their vibrant designs are now noticeable on the sides of many city streets.

Amid voting for favorite websites, blogs, restaurants, American Idol contestants and more, residents of South Lake Tahoe have the opportunity to vote in an actual public election. Elections for the Lake Tahoe Community College board, the Lake Tahoe Unified School District board, the South Tahoe Public Utility District board and a ballot measure regarding recreation funds will all be decided by voters on Nov. 8.
