Mat Pilates is a strengthening and lengthening form of exercise that focuses on your core muscles while also training your arms and legs. Based on the original exercises Joseph Pilates, the mat work came before any of the Pilates Apparatus (equipment) he developed. It includes over 500 exercises and can be practiced anywhere. Mat Pilates can be modified for any age, body, or fitness level.

Tahoe Magic wants to thank the hundreds of donors who have contributed during this COVID-19 crisis. We have received $236,893 to date in donations since mid-March and, in turn, we have helped more than 300 families, about 1500 individuals, with assistance totaling $204,094. We are spending your contributions almost as quickly as we are getting them. Every donation has gone directly back into the South Lake Tahoe community to support those needing help with basics: shelter, food and utilities.

Kudos: Community supports growing tennis program

A record 246 people participated in the 36th Tahoe Tennis Classic at Zephyr Cove Park this past weekend. The four-day annual event brought people from throughout the United States to our area for competitive and fun tennis.

The tournament is the biggest fundraiser for the Zephyr Cove Tennis Club Foundation. The nonprofit, all-volunteer organization has a contract with Douglas County to operate the six courts. Responsibilities include resurfacing the courts, managing play, and providing instruction for all ages and abilities.

$85M in sales at Tahoe Beach Club during first phase

During their first summer of sales, 39 of the 46 available contracts to buy a luxury condominium home at the Tahoe Beach Club sold for a total of $85 million.

This development at the end of Kahle Drive in Stateline, Nevada is the first full ownership lakefront in 30 years at Lake Tahoe. They are being built on land that was once a trailer park.

Homebuyers have been mostly from the Bay Area, Southern California, Texas and New York areas.

Local families present inaugural Rock Tahoe Half Marathon

The inaugural Rock Tahoe Half Marathon will bring approximately 5,000 people
including runners, friends, and family to South Lake Tahoe this weekend as they Run, Rock, and Recover in this one of a kind event.

On Saturday, June 20, 2,000 runners will take off along the 13.1-mile course from Spooner Summit and wind their way down Highway 50 along the East Shore of Lake Tahoe to the finish line at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Lake Tahoe. The course will also take runners off the highway along the newly completed forest bike path from Round Hill Pines to Kahle Drive.

Blue Ribbon Award Nominees Announced by TahoeChamber

The nomination period for the 2014 Blue Ribbon Awards ended on Friday, October 10 at noon. TahoeChamber’s prestigious awards program that recognizes exceptional South Shore businesses received over 175 nominations for eight separate award categories. The finalists and winners will be announced at the 7th Annual Blue Ribbon Awards dinner and ceremony on November 13 at Harrah’s Lake Tahoe. Tickets for the awards ceremony are now available for purchase at www.tahoechamber.org.

It has been shown that people who suffer from the symptoms of multiple sclerosis (MS) find relief in yoga due to it's emphasis on relaxation, breathing and deliberate movements.

Yoga classes to assist in relief from the symptoms of MS are now available for free in South Lake Tahoe at the Pilates Studio Lake Tahoe.

Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for Pamela's Pilates

Pamela’s Pilates will celebrate their recent expansion with a grand reopening and ribbon cutting on Saturday, January 25 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The ribbon cutting will take place at 4:30 p.m.

Guests will have the opportunity to test the studio's newest Pilates equipment while enjoying music from Incline Village’s Paul David and the Drivers, and food provided by the Simple Bliss Vegan Cafe.

21st Annual Women's Wellness Week at Tahoe's Granlibakken
