The first Cash Mob to hit South Lake Tahoe will be held on Thursday, August 23rd at Primo’s Italian Bistro, from 12-2pm. The idea of a Cash Mob is simple: get as many people together at the same place & time to infuse money into a particular local business, in turn supporting the local economy. Bring a friend, buy lunch and enjoy handmade pasta, hand tossed pizza, homemade desserts, and more. All those in attendance will get a special treat at approximately 1pm; something spontaneous and fun that will surely make for good lunch time entertainment!

Writers Returns to Squaw Valley with a Great Line-Up of Literary Events

Every summer writers of all stripes — poets, novelists, screenwriters and writers of memoirs, histories, essays and short stories — descend on Squaw Valley and Lake Tahoe for a week of intensive literary activity. The valley buzzes with metaphors flying and manuscripts flapping, as over 250 writers, editors and publishers convene in two separate week-long workshops in poetry, fiction, nonfiction, memoir and screenwriting.

Market on the Run Farmers' Market on Ski Run Boulevard South Lake Tahoe

Market on the Run Farmers' Market on Ski Run Boulevard runs Fridays through summer from 3-8 pm. The boulevard is closed between Birch and Larch streets. Live music, a beer garden in front of the Blue Angel cafe, organic local produce, unique food vendors, locally made bread and other local products and goods. Also face painting and other things for kids. Make it a family event and have dinner at the food booths, get the kids’ faces painted, jump in the bounce house and visit the many shops and recreation areas extending from Heavenly Resort to the Marina on Ski Run Boulevard.

In this life, Don Ewing is a baker. In a previous life, he probably had his own TV show based on his life as a comedian who does shtick based on flour, yeast and water.
While South Shore is lucky to have Howie Nave as the emcee of all things standup comedy, Ewing, known around town as "Don the Baker," knows he can't compete on the same stage.
