'Thank a Police Officer Day' recognized by SLT resident who encourages others to do the same

In honor of "National Thank a Police Officer Day," and in an effort to encourage others to show their support for our heroes in law enforcement, South Lake Tahoe resident Daniella Flatau presented the El Dorado County Sheriff's Office and South Lake Tahoe Police Department with 60 goody bags on Monday.

Local officers honored during National Thank a Police Officer Day

In light of the recent ambushes and assignations of police officers across the country, communities in the U.S. celebrated the third "National Thank a Police Officer Day" on September 19.

South Lake Tahoe local Daniella Flatau tried to encourage people to support law enforcement by organizing the local celebration of a day meant to show those sworn to protect the public that people support them, especially in a day and age where violence against the police is increasing daily.

Facts about Saturday's South Lake Tahoe 50th Anniversary Parade

More than 100 vehicles and floats will be in Saturday's parade that will be celebrating the City of South Lake Tahoe's 50th anniversary. Along with the moving entries there will also be 500 people walking along the route.

National Thank A Police Officer Day to be recognized in South Lake Tahoe

In light of recent ambushes and assignations of police officers across the country, some South Lake Tahoe residents are organizing a local event on National Thank A Police Officer Day September 19.

Organizer Daniella Flatau is trying to create awareness in South Lake Tahoe by showing support for the police officers who protect and serve their community, and to help boost officer morale.
