The Tides Project donates to Lake Tahoe Boys and Girls Club

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, CALIF. - Local female business owner, Karly Matzen of The Tides Project, sells her crafts online and trade shows throughout the Tahoe basin. You make have seen The Tides Project booth at the Made In Tahoe festival or Live at Lakeview this summer. In return, 10% of her sales goes back to funding art programs. Her vision is to bring supplies to the community in order to support a positive outlet for youth through the Arts.

Karly Matzen from The Tides Project, does not have to be told why it’s important to have a creative outlet. She knows that it is important for every child to express themselves on a daily basis. Her motto is “If you have a creative outlet throughout your life then you will be a stronger adult, and you will be able to coast with the ups and downs that life sometimes throws at us”.

Matzen stated,” the dollars spent on supplies are investing in a child’s future and back into the community as a whole. It embodies the spirit of community and to give back what ever you can because it will also make an impact”.

Gina Stowell, art program direct stated, “Having donations such a this help us teach all mediums of art to the students. The donated supplies put smiles on the all the childrens’ faces. And to hear that it is a local woman donating them helps them believe in their community and shows them that their Art program matters. With these materials, we will be able to have several art shows to showcase all the youths talent and artworks throughout 2018”.
