SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - After Tuesday's announcement that all events on City of South Lake Tahoe property are canceled for 60 days, On Course Events has had to cancel their popular Live at Lakeview Summer Music Series.
Originally scheduled to begin on June 25, 2020, the music series is now on hold until the summer of 2021.
Live at Lakeview still hopes to have some concerts this summer in South Lake Tahoe

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Events on City property through at least July 14 have been postponed, including the 4th of July Parade.
As South Lake Tahoe starts to reopen with guidelines from California Governor Newsom for Phase 2, the directives toward events won't be addressed until future phases so the City took action during their meeting Tuesday.

The free Live at Lakeview Summer Music Series brings a wide variety of genre all season from 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. every Thursday until Labor Day Weekend.

You make have seen The Tides Project booth at the Made In Tahoe festival or Live at Lakeview this summer. In return, 10% of her sales goes back to funding art programs. Many South Lake Tahoe residents love their dogs. Most Police Officers love dogs too. I’ve heard it said by someone not so long ago…. “The more people I meet, the more I love dogs!” We at the police department understand and share in this fondness; however, we receive weekly complaints from community members regarding dogs in public parks, and most frequently dogs at the Live-at-Lakeview events. The South Lake Tahoe City Code (SLTCC), does not allow dogs, even on a leash, to be in our public parks (SLTCC §8.05.130).

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - For six years Live at Lakeview has been the place to be on Thursday nights in South Lake Tahoe, and this week marks their 60th free concert.
On August 17, the signature concert series will have Sol Peligro and Boca do Rio on the beach at Lakeview Commons starting at 4:30 p.m.
The popular series is presented by Toyota USA, the City of South Lake Tahoe and On Course Events and goes until the end of August.

Tahoe Truck Stop Food Truck Weekend, scheduled for July 14-16, 2017, has been cancelled. The 3-day event On Course Events had been planning was set to include 8 food trucks and a late night performance from Afrolicious at the American Legion in South Lake Tahoe.
With limited event support coupled with overwhelming costs associated with providing the appropriate infrastructure for the 8 trucks and expected guests all weekend, On Course Event decided this event became too expensive to produce at this time.

Summer is almost here and its time to start planning your Thursday evenings in South Lake Tahoe with a stop at Live at Lakeview, the summer concert series on the beach.
Starting June 22 and every Thursday until August 31, the free concerts will be at Lakeview Commons at the corner of Lakeview Avenue and Highway 50 from 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Arthur "Rocky" Heether has been identified as the man killed as he rode his bike across Highway 50 in South Lake Tahoe on Saturday, May 13, 2017. The 64-year-old man was struck by a vehicle.
Arthur, or Rocky as he was better known, was born in Oakland, California on January 26, 1053. He moved to the South Shore in the early 70's and worked construction on many Tahoe projects.

The lakeside summer concert series in South Lake Tahoe, Live and Lakeview, celebrates their 50th show on Thursday, August 18 with two bands starting at 4:30 p.m.
This free concert is presented by On Course Events and the City of South Lake Tahoe.
Funk band Swamp Zen gets the party started from 4:30 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. and they'll be followed by Gypsy Rock band Diego's Umbrella who take the stage from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Be captured on film forever when a drone flies over Lakeview Commons on Thursday to take the pfficial City of South Lake Tahoe's 50th Anniversary Photo.
There will be two photos taken, one at 6 p.m. and the other at 7:15 p.m. by Tahoe Production House. They will also be using a drone at the 6 p.m. photo shoot.
This will also be a celebration of the last Live at Lakeview concert for the summer
with the South Shore’s own Lavish Green taking center stage.

Due to a forecasted 80% chance of thunderstorms today, Live at Lakeview will be held inside Tep’s Villa Roma’s banquet room from 7:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. World’s Finest, a 5-piece Americana band with a ska twist will perform for Live at Lakeview’s

Well before the fireworks are set off above Lake Tahoe at 9:45 p.m. on Saturday, families will be able enjoy a plethora of activities along the South Shore.
The day starts off with the Annual South Lake Tahoe 4th of July Parade at 10 a.m. The procession will start at the SLT Recreation Center, to Highway 50 and down to Cardinale Way past the "Y." It will be over by 11 a.m.

The popular outdoor concert series in South Lake Tahoe, Live at Lakeview, is about to start their fourth season of music on the beach.
On Course Events and the City of South Lake Tahoe are the sponsors of the event. The City just approved giving On Course Events a new 5-year agreement.
City awards OnCourse Events a five year contract for Live at Lakeview

Live at Lakeview is now classified as a signature event for the City of South Lake Tahoe, and once that was clarified during Tuesday's City Council meeting, Rob Guistina's business OnCourse Events, was awarded a five year contract to put on the Thursday night concert series.
Since the city is actually giving the event about $41,500 in waived venue charges ($650 a week), in kind services of parks, streets and public safety personnel, and cash.
City seeks proposals for Lakeview Commons Signature Summer Event

The current contract the City of South Lake Tahoe has with the promoters of Live at Lakeview has expired and bids for a signature summer series at Lakeview Commons are now being accepted.
The City's contract with OnCourse Events was for the summers of 2013 and 2014 so they are now required to send out a new 'Request for Proposal' for a Summer Signature Event at the popular Lakeview Commons on the corner of Lake Tahoe Blvd and Lakeview Ave.
All who meet the proposal requirements are welcome to submit a proposal.

Marijuana is a major concern for many in our City. As part of the City Code, our City Council provided for a safer community by allowing marijuana grow operations only after a permit is obtained. The permit process provides for a building official to inspect for things like:
1. Safe wiring—adding large number of “grow lights” overburdens conventional electric outlets and can cause fires.

Those include bike paths, road repair or replacement, more public art, a BMX track, improvements at the Skate Park and other recreational areas. They want more events at Lakeview Commons, like the summer concert series, which the City helps support for the locals and visitors alike. I have been working for the last year on The Children’s Memorial Tree and I would like to take this opportunity to say Thank You to the community of South Lake Tahoe for their support in rebuilding the memorial. I wanted to keep the Skibum as well as my alter ego out of the publicity due to the fact that there would be resistance to the idea from those that do not always agree with my views and I wanted no distractions. We had to play good cop / bad cop with the city in order to push the memorial through and guess which role I played.
