South Lake Tahoe Moose Lodge Kids’ Fishing Derby a success

The South Lake Tahoe Moose Lodge hosted another successful Annual Kid’s Fishing Derby on Sunday, September 22, 2019, at Lake Baron at Tahoe Paradise Park. This was the 17th year the Moose Lodge has hosted this free event for children in the Lake Tahoe area.

Registration began at 8:00 am and wrapped up at 2:00 p.m. Hot dogs, chips, sodas, and water were provided free to all registered children.

For the event, the Lodge stocked the Lake with nearly 2000 pounds of catchable trout ranging from one to five pounds. Fishing poles, tackle, and bait are provided free to all registered children.

1st, 2nd, and 3rd place Prizes (savings accounts provided by El Dorado Savings Bank were awarded for the three largest fish caught.

This year’s winners were:
Nolan Storrs, 1st Place: 5.1 pounds
Kash VanKirk, 2nd Place: 5.0 pounds
Cade LaFleur, 3rd Place: 4.4 pounds

In addition to the three top prizes, every registered child received a prize from a large selection of toys and games.
