South Lake Tahoe Moose Lodge to provide food for 50 families

For the past six years, members of the South Lake Tahoe Moose Lodge have been providing meals for the less fortunate members of the community. What began as a small project with members filling up 15 boxes of food has grown into a much larger project with 50 families receiving the meals this holiday season.

Moose Lodge 1632 is asking for help from the community to fill these boxes. They are seeking donations of food to supplement the food boxes being prepared for distribution to needy families in the South Lake Tahoe area.

The boxes have been decorated by students from Bijou Community School and will be distributed on December 22 by Family Resource Center to families they have chosen. Moose members have been collecting food and also donating cash to assist in purchasing specialty items.

Persons who may wish to assist the group may drop off items or donate at the Moose Lodge located at 960 Eloise, South Lake Tahoe. Their hours are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Sunday 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. The Lodge is closed on Thursdays. Their phone number is 530.541.1632.

Items needed are canned soups, canned vegetables, gravy mixes, also dry goods such as cereal, pasta etc. These items will be included in the Boxes to provide additional food that may be needed by these needy families.

Please help them help these families have a brighter Christmas.
