Chance of snow all week long in South Lake Tahoe

The National Weather Service in Reno says that an active winter weather pattern will be returning to the Lake Tahoe region next week as several winter systems are poised to impact the Sierra and western Nevada every one to two days beginning Monday and possibly lasting into next weekend.

While none of these storms appear overly strong individually, each will bring travel impacts with the potential for up to 2 feet of snow in the high Sierra over the course of the week. Light snow showers on Monday may result in travel slow downs and slick roads but more widespread travel impacts are expected beginning Tuesday.

Their forecast:

Tonight - Mostly cloudy, with a low around 14. Southeast wind around 5 mph.

Sunday - A 20 percent chance of snow showers after 10am. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 37. East wind around 5 mph.

Sunday Night - A 20 percent chance of snow showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 21. Southeast wind around 5 mph.

Monday - A 30 percent chance of snow showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 39. Southeast wind around 5 mph. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Monday Night - A 40 percent chance of snow showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 24. Calm wind becoming south around 5 mph in the evening. New snow accumulation of around an inch possible.

Tuesday- Snow likely. Cloudy, with a high near 37. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New snow accumulation of 3 to 5 inches possible.

Tuesday Night - Snow likely. Cloudy, with a low around 25. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Wednesday - Snow likely. Cloudy, with a high near 35.

Wednesday Night - Snow showers likely. Cloudy, with a low around 22.

Thursday - A chance of snow showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 32.

Thursday Night - A chance of snow showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 21.

Friday - A chance of snow showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 31.

Friday Night - A chance of snow showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 17.

Saturday - A chance of snow showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 34.
