Auditions for LTCC play Love/Sick postponed due to snow

Due to college closures and extreme weather and power outages, Lake Tahoe Community College (LTCC) has rescheduled auditions for their winter production, Love/Sick until Tuesday, January 17 at 7:00 p.m. in LTCC’s Duke Theatre.

There are roles in the play for men and women of various ages and types for the play which was written by John Cariani. Performances of Love/Sick take place March 17-26, 2017.

A romantic and tragic comedy, Love/Sick is a collection of nine slightly twisted and completely hilarious short plays. Quirky, humorous, and poignant, Love/Sick is a darker cousin to Cariani’s play Almost, Maine, a big hit for the Theatre Department few years ago. Set on a Friday night in an “alternate suburban reality,” the play explores the pain and joy that comes with being in love. Full of imperfect lovers and dreamers, Love/Sick is an unromantic comedy for the romantic in everyone.

Auditions will consist of readings from the play. Actors are encouraged to read the script before auditioning. Scripts are available on reserve at the front desk in LTCC’s Roberta Mason Library, which will reopen from the college’s holiday break on Tuesday, Jan. 3. Audition scenes will be available at the Theatre Department. Audition information and character breakdowns can be found on the Theatre Department website (www.ltcc.edu/campuslife/duke_theatre/auditions.php), on the department’s Facebook page (LTCCTheatreArts), and at the department callboard.

Opportunities for Light and Sound Board Operators, Stage Manager, Backstage Crew, and Construction Crew are also available. Auditions and technical crew opportunities are open to students and community members.
