1/13/17 update: Too much of a good thing can sometimes put a hitch in your plan! Tahoe received record snowfall in the past week and although clear skies are expected for the day of the hike, it has been postponed to a February date yet to be determined.
In addition, both the City and US Forest Services offices and Lake Tahoe Unified School District have been shut down for most of the week creating additional challenges getting the Generation Green students prepared to lead the event.

Participants will meet at Explore Tahoe, an Urban Trailhead Visitor center and walk over to the park's entrance where they will learn about Lake Tahoe’s pristine environment while experiencing the enjoyment of snowshoeing.
Register in advance by calling 530-542-6059 or by email - kedwards@cityofslt.us
Bring your own snowshoes, dress in layers, wear hat and gloves, and bring plenty of water. Enjoy hot cocoa and snacks following the hike at the visitor center.
Meet at the center, 4114 Lake Tahoe Blvd. and be prepared to leave at 10:00 a.m.
This event is made possible through a partnership with City of South Lake Tahoe, U.S. Forest Service Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit and South Tahoe High School Generation Green Club.
