Eleven South Tahoe High football players on Nevada All State teams

Eleven varsity football players from South Tahoe High are part of the 2016 Class 3A all-state football team.

First team honors went to four of the South Tahoe players. Senior Tommy Cefalu, who just signed to attend Eastern Oregon University next year as a student-athlete is the quarterback of the team. Senior wide receiver Noah Jackson, junior tight end McCallan Castles and junior cornerback Matt Cain were also honored for their play on the field.

On the 3A All State 2nd team are running back Jacob Bernal (Sr), defensive lineman Maxwell Schweitzer (Sr), linebacker Gabriel Bueno (Sr), safety Dylan Gooding (Sr) and Jackson in his kicker position.

Three players also made it to the honorable mention list: wide receiver Zen Contestable (Sr), offensive lineman Anthony Wolfe (Sr) and wide receiver/cornerback Robert Cage (Sr).

The South Tahoe Vikings had one of their best years in two decades during their 2016 season. They made a trip to Southern Nevada for the state championship.
