South Lake Tahoe hosts Pac-8 collegiate hockey championships

Collegiate hockey is headed to South Lake Tahoe February 6 through 8 when the Pac-8 Championship is held at the SLT Ice Arena.

Defending 2014 co-champs Arizona State ended the season in first with a 9-1 record but will not be attending this weekend's tournament due to disciplinary action. “The Arizona State PAC-8 team has declined the invitation to participate in this year’s tournament due to a team rule violation," according to the Pac-8 website.

The Sun Devil's co-champs last year were the University of Utah Utes. The Utes will now hold the top seed. The USC Trojans ended the regular season in third with a 10-5 record. Both of those teams won a first round bye.

Friday, February 6:
Game 1: #3 Oregon vs #6 Cal – 4:30 p.m.
Game 2: #4 Washington vs #5 UCLA – 7:30 p.m.

Saturday, February 7:
Game 3: #2 USC vs winner of Game 1 – 1 p.m.
Game 4: #1 Utah vs winner of Game 2 – 4 p.m.

Sunday, February 8:
Game 5: Winner of Game 3 vs Winner of Game 4 – 12 p.m.
(highest seeded team will be home team)

All games will be played at the Ice Arena located at 1176 Rufus Allen Blvd.in South Lake Tahoe.

Tickets start at $7 per game and a tournament pass is avaialble for $30. All tickets can be purchased on line. Information on the tournament is also available on the Pac-8 facbook page.
