There are several flooded areas in the South Lake Tahoe and Meyers areas, resulting in some road closures.

As of 9:00 a.m. Thursday, the following roads are experiencing flooding:

Tahoe Keys - State Streets and Tahoe Keys Blvd
Bijou Area - Bill Avenue, Shirley Avenue, Betty Rae Ct, Vanda Lee, Woodbine Avenue
Portions of Glenwood Way
Portions of Pioneer Trail
Portions of lake Tahoe Blvd between the Y and High School
Portions of Glorene Avenue

El Dorado County has closed Elks Club Road at Highway 50 next to the flea market. Residents in the area can get out on Pioneer Trail side. They were able to open
Lake Tahoe Blvd at Sawmill Pond.

South Lake Tahoe Fire Department, the City's Public Works crews and El Dorado County road crews are out clearing drains and pumping out water.

Heavy snow content in meadows and high river levels are slowing localized drainage significantly. Unfortunately, the heaviest rain is still on the way.

Call 530-542-6030 to report flooding or call 911 if you feel your situation is an emergency in the City. So far there have been no evacuations.

Highway 50 remains closed at Logan Creek at this hour. Once the hillside is deemed safe Nevada Department of Transportation officials will reopen it. With the heavy rains in the forecast they are keeping it closed due to instability.

SR 89 at Emerald Bay remains closed due to an unstable snowpack in the area.

Highway 50 near Kyburz is experiencing water and mud over the roadway again. Caltrans has one way traffic control in the area 8 miles east of Ice House Rd at Silver Fork Cafe due to drain cleaning. There no estimated time of clearing.
