Annual Parking Passes Now Available for South Lake Tahoe Residents

3/4/14 10 am update: Passes will not be available until 3/5/14.

In an effort to keep up their end of the "parking bargain," the City of South Lake Tahoe has started selling annual parking permits to local residents in the 89448-89449 and 96150-96158 zip codes. In last month's City Council meetings with the public and a group opposed to paid parking, city leaders had promised to work out a parking plan that would address the issues proposed, and a paid permit for locals is the first step.

The permits sell for $40 and allow holders to park Monday through Friday in City-designated residential permit areas as well as in areas where paid parking kiosks are installed.

They are not valid in the Heavenly Village parking garage.

Passes are available for purchase from Code Enforcement Officers and at these locations:

City Administration Offices: 1901 Airport Road
City Services Center: 1052 Tata Lane
Recreation Complex: 1180 Rufus Allen Boulevard
Police Department: 1352 Johnson Boulevard

In other parking plan action in addition to offering the annual parking pass, the City of South Lake Tahoe made the following changes to the parking program:

Hours of enforcement are currently from 8am to 8pm (reduced from 8am to 10pm).

Parking kiosks were removed from Venice Boulevard and Paradise Avenue.

Parking citation fees were reduced from $55 to $35.
