Message from Sierra: The moment we've all been waiting for has arrived fam! While the storm may have rolled in wet yesterday, it turned to snow earlier than forecasted overnight and we received an estimated 5-7 inches of freshies with nothing but more on the way! It is currently 32 degrees and snowing here at the base of the mountain. We're getting started at 8:30 am this morning with 12 lifts + tows spinning, escorting you to all 46 open trails, 32 cords, and 6 parks. If you're heading up today, come prepared with your goretex/waterproof gear! Currently, Highways 88 and 89 are on chain control. While Highway 50 remains open at the moment, it is likely to go on chain control later in the day and will certainly be on chain control tomorrow morning. Those traveling over the next few days should be sure to carry chains and allot plenty of time to travel, as the road conditions will be varied. Scope out http://www.dot.ca.gov/ for the most up-to-date road conditions. Winter's back baby!!
