Facebook message from Kirkwood: Winds subsiding early AM and snow is falling as I type. Overnight snow quality is quite excellent with plenty of fresh ‪#‎PowHunt‬’n to be farmed this fine Monday. Slow’yr roll on the way out here - RESPECT! Roads are slick, drive with care my friends… Expect a few front-side snow safety delays as the Mountain team work the front-side 8. I would believe the back-side will open today at some point. I can’t put a time on it at 0542 to be quite honest.
NWS forecast for today: Steady snow will continue through morning, heavy at times. Then, light to moderate snow showers through the remainder of the day Monday. We will see snow showers begin to taper off by 8 PM Monday night. Dry weather will move in overnight Monday into Tuesday evening. Snow ratios will remain around 11:1 during the day Monday, with accumulations at the base around 4”-6” inches, with 6”-9” inches at the ridge. Snow showers end early enough Monday night that little accumulation is expected, with only an inch additional expected at the ridge.
