Commissioners play a very important advisory role in the provision of services to El Dorado County seniors. The Commission acts in an advisory capacity to both the Area Agency on Aging and the El Dorado County Board of Supervisors on matters concerning senior residents of the county. The Commission focuses its efforts on such issues as development of community centers in strategic areas of the county to ensure accessible services to all senior residents, promotion of services that enable seniors to remain in their homes for as long as possible and identification and prevention of elder abuse.
