Tahoe Arts Alliance to hold inaugural awards ceremony

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – The Tahoe Arts Alliance will hold their inaugural Alliance Awards ceremony in the South Tahoe High School TADA Building on Saturday, April 13. The awards will recognize excellence in visual and performing arts as well as recognition of those who have contributed to and supported local art.

Doors open at 5:00 p.m. Mingling and light refreshments will be from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and the show begins at 6:00 p.m. This is a formal event and "dress to impress."

The ceremony will include presenters, nominees, local celebrities, luminaries, and major supporters and partners of the arts. The list of performers: Bison Blue Grass, Tahoe Fire Dancers, Broadway in Blue, Miki Rae & Dylan, Molly DeLallo, Birds of a Feather, and solo performances from Marcia’s Shining Stars and Forever Dance, with a welcome from Howie Nave.

The awards themselves, known as the “Arty,” are created by local artist Bryan Yerian from Compass Clay Studios.

The event will be followed by an after-party at The Lake House. Tahoe Arts Alliance members will receive a free drink ticket at the show to be used at the after party.

The Tahoe Arts Alliance was formed in response to the needs of local artists, organizations and community members. Their mission is to Connect, Advocate, and Promote on behalf of all the arts on the South Shore and to foster collaboration between arts groups, provide an interactive events calendar dedicated to the arts, advocate for the arts at the government level, support local arts organizations, and promote the arts to both visitors and residents alike to help foster Tahoe's South Shore unique artistic identity.
