RAH Hair Studio moves to new location at The Crossing

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - For ten years the RAH Hair Studio has operated at a location near Sierra Boulevard, but as they enter their second decade, they have moved to a beautiful new space at The Crossing in South Lake Tahoe.

Is was not a normal April Fool's Day when Rah's owner Angela Zajic opened the doors on her new place for the first time. In the works for five months, the new space in The Crossing next to Verde Mexican Rotisserie has been turned into something that looks like it's straight from the pages of Etsy and Pinterest.

"It was time for a new home," said Angela, a long-time local who has been in the beauty business for 16 years. She had her first job in the business as a beautician at New Wave Salon in South Lake Tahoe, then onto Aveda inside MontBleu. She then moved from employee to employer and opened RAH.

The popular salon she has created is not only attracting new clientele but also new stylists. The new RAH now has ten beauticians, including the four new ones, a retail manager and front desk staff.

Features of the new salon include a farmhouse fresh decor with sliding barn doors, fresh white walls, natural lighting, reclaimed wood from farms across the country, as well as an expanded retail line.

Brides (and grooms) are a big part of her business, so a new wedding prep area has been added for makeup and hair.

Even the basic needs of a salon, including stations and wash basins, are new, fresh and stylish.

When Angela got her building permit for the new location on December 13, it was full steam ahead for her and her crew. Bishop Pass Design, from the Miracle Mile district of Los Angeles, took on the design. Owner Anthony Agriam, who happens to be a South Tahoe High graduate, came to South Lake Tahoe to help his friend recreate the four walls she was leasing at The Crossing. Robert Dore Construction took Agriam's designs from paper to reality, and as they prepared to open, the RAH family helped fill the space from creating the cushions to stocking the shelves.

The RAH family is full of many who grew up in South Lake Tahoe, including wedding coordinator Kylee Weiss and Heather Dominguez who will often be the smiling face one sees as they first enter.

Angela is carrying Halo hair extensions and several old and new lines of hair care including Kenneth Murphy of Australia, along with other retail items.

RAH will be celebrating a Grand Opening on May 18 at 4:00 p.m. Angela's talented daughter Aurora Gooch will be singing and playing acoustic guitar during the event. Then Angela moves right into preparing for her own wedding on May 27!

RAH Hair Studio will soon be open each day of the week. Their address at The Crossing at Tahoe Valley is 2018 Lake Tahoe Blvd, South Lake Tahoe, California 96150.
