Lake Tahoe forecast: Two days of sun, then rain and snow return

The famous blue skies of Lake Tahoe have returned, but just for two days as another west system heads in that will be bringing rain and snow.

As the rigorous trough leaves the Sierra, mild and dry conditions return, but are short lived as more storm systems are on the horizon. Gusty winds and light amounts of rain and snow are possible starting Tuesday and lasting into early
Thursday. Much colder temperatures develop by early Thursday. This will be a fast moving system with a limited moisture tap, but another one is due after next weekend.
