Soroptimist Club of Tahoe Sierra holds virtual Elegant Evening auction and party

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - On Saturday, April 18, hundreds of locals would have been dressing up and attending the 31st annual Soroptimist International of Tahoe Sierra Elegant Evening.

Even though canceled the club is holding their online auction along with contests and a live stream dedication to the event. Since 100 percent of funds raised at Elegant Evening go back into the South Lake Tahoe community to enhance the lives of its women and youth, the club is committed to doing the same this year.

The online auction is now open and will end at 9:00 p.m. (PDT) on Saturday, April 18. Register to bid and view all items up for auction at www.elegantevening2020.com.

Two people registered to bid will be awarded $100 prizes.

Please post photos of how you are enjoying your evening to their Facebook page Soroptimist International of Tahoe Sierra from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on April 18th (the night the auction closes). The photo with the most "likes" at 9:00 p.m will win 2 tickets to next year's live event..

There is also be a Facebook Live event on April 18th between 7:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. to learn more about Soroptimist and Tahoe Magic, the 'special appeal' effort of the evening.

Tahoe Magic (https://www.tahoemagic.org/) assists families in need with one-time crisis funding after a referral from one of their partner agencies. This could be rent, a utility bill, medicine, food, etc. To donate to the Special Appeal, use the button at www.elegantevening2020.com.

“Soroptimist” is a coined term which means, “Best for Women.” Soroptimist International of Tahoe Sierra was chartered on Friday, March 4, 1977. Their mission statement is to “Strengthen and enhance the lives of women and youth in our community and the world.” They participate in programs at a local level based on the specific needs of our community.
