Kiwanis Club of Lake Tahoe provides 600 coats to local youth; New members welcome

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Coats for Kids is an annual Kiwanis Club of Lake Tahoe signature project. For the past three weeks members of the club have been busy purchasing coats and distributing them to students in need in our community.

With the continuing impact of the pandemic, it is no surprise that we are seeing an increase in the need. With the generosity and funding support from the Bob Baunhasuer Foundation, their annual Crab Feed fundraising event, American Century Championship, Soroptimist International of Tahoe Sierra, TLC Investments, and Give Tahoe/El Dorado Community Foundation, the club was able to provide more than 600 brand new coats to these deserving youth.

The Kiwanis Club of Lake Tahoe invites locals to consider joining them in their pursuit to support the youth in the South Lake Tahoe community by becoming involved as a member of the club. It’s a chance to meet new community members, or just connect with those you may already know.

As a new member, if you join between now and December 31, 2020, the cost is only $88. A $77 savings! For more information email kiwanislt@gmail.com. Applications are available on the club's website: https://kiwaniscluboflaketahoe.org/.
