Classical Musicians From Around the World Return to Lake Tahoe Summerfest

The Third Annual Lake Tahoe SummerFest returns to Incline Village for two weekends of classical music.
Concert goers will be treated to world class music under a tent near the lake at the Sierra Nevada College Campus August 1-3 and August 7-9.
The Lake Tahoe SummerFest orchestra is comprised of world renowned musicians representative of international symphonies including the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, Los Angeles Philharmonic, San Francisco, Seattle, and Vancouver, among others.
For the individual musicians who travel to Tahoe, the festival is the ultimate summer camp. The campers just happen to be renowned soloists and some of the world’s finest classical musicians.
Lake Tahoe SummerFest is held in an intimate, 500-seat concert tent beneath hundred year-old trees just a half-mile from Lake Tahoe on the Sierra Nevada College campus in Incline Village, Nev.
Featured soloists will be New York Metropolitan Opera star Matthew Polenzani, August 1-3, and U.S. Billboard Classical Chart best-selling pianist Simone Dinnerstein, August 7-9.
“Live classical music is an ephemeral art form that has transformational power,” said Joel Revzen, Lake Tahoe SummerFest artistic director and conductor. “It has the ability to reach out and emotionally grab you, never to be repeated in the exact same way again.”
Musicians will be led by Revzen, currently in his ninth season on the conducting staff of the Metropolitan Opera in New York. He has conducted and recorded symphonies and operas throughout the world and has appeared as conductor for the Arizona Opera, London Symphony, the Mariinsky Orchestra, (formerly the Kirov), Scottish Chamber Orchestra and the Moscow Symphony.
Tickets to the third annual Lake Tahoe SummerFest, a series of classical music concerts the first three weekends in August, are on sale now at www.tahoesummerfest.org, with early discounted seating options available through June 1.
Single performance tickets are specially priced now through June 1 at a 25 percent savings. (Online, enter the code EARLYBIRD during checkout purchase.)

Prime Season Subscription in reserved seating in the middle orchestra area for $750 ($900 value, save $150).
Standard Season Subscription seats in the reserved upper orchestra area for $375. ($450 value, save $75.)
The classical concert series will offer two evening concerts, Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m., and a new ensemble series called “Meet the Music, Meet the Musicians” held Sundays at 4 p.m. Sunday concerts will bring intimacy and electricity between the artists and audiences as the musicians explore weekly themes based on three of the great classical music centers of Europe: Vienna, Paris and London.
Repertoire highlights include Beethoven’s Symphony No. 4; the rarely-heard gem, Britten’s Serenade for tenor, horn and strings; Mozart Symphony No. 38; Beethoven Piano Concerto No. 2; Strauss Concertino for clarinet, bassoon, and strings; D.Schiff’s “Speaking In Drums,” and Mendelssohn’s ‘Scottish’ Symphony.
