Local businesses invited to SLT Police Department's ABC training

All local business owners with an ABC license are invited to bring their employees to a free seminar presented by the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) on Thursday, May 28 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.

Hosted by the South Lake Tahoe Police Department, the LEAD (Licenses Education on Alcohol and Drugs) seminar will provide information on what is acceptable I.D., the best way to check I.D., how to refuse service, signs and prevention of illicit drug activity, and more.

The presentation will also given licensees the facts about their criminal, civil, and ABC liability, an update on California alcohol laws, as well as helpful handouts.

If you would like to attend, please complete the online registration at abc.ca.gov no later than 24 hours prior to the start of the class. Find the link “Register for a LEAD training” and then locate the class under the Sacramento District. On the day of the training, please bring a copy of your ABC license and plan to arrive a few minutes early to sign in, as the program will begin promptly at 10:00 a.m.

The seminar will take place at the City Council Chambers located at the South Lake Tahoe Airport, 1901 Airport Road.
