Man Dies After Car Plummets 80 Feet in Zephyr Heights

5/5/14 Update: The Douglas County Sheriff's Department has released the name of the man killed in Friday's accident. The driver of the vehicle has been identified as 55 year old Jeffrey Alan Davis of Zephyr Cove, NV. The cause of death has been listed as blunt force trauma due to a motor vehicle incident. The incident is still under investigation as to what caused the vehicle to travel through the back of the garage.
A Zephyr Heights man died Friday when the car he was parking plunged down an 80 foot hill.
The unidentified man was backing his vehicle into his garage in the 600 block of Lookout Road. The vehicle entered the garage and went through the back wall. The car came to a stop against a tree.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver’s name is currently being withheld, pending family notifications. The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
Douglas County Sheriffs and the Nevada Highway Patrol responded to the accident at 11:42 a.m. May 2.
