County's ad hoc cannabis committee to meet and discuss rough draft ordinances

PLACERVILLE, Calif. - The public is invited to attend a meeting of the El Dorado County ad hoc cannabis committee on Monday, June 3 from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Board of Supervisors Chambers in Placerville.

They will discuss the rough draft ordinances for commercial cannabis manufacturing, nurseries, and test laboratories. A presentation by County Staff will also be made. The El Dorado County ad hoc cannabis committee members are District V Supervisor Sue Novasel, and District I Supervisor John Hidahl.

In November 2018, El Dorado County residents passed five commercial cannabis measures related to indoor and outdoor commercial cannabis uses for adult recreational and medicinal use.

The County has until July 4 to develop the programs that provide the discretionary permitting process and other administrative procedures. This date is six months from the effective day of the ordinance, which was 30 days after the certification of the election results (December 4, 2018).

This timeline could be extended to account for unforeseen circumstances, changes in state or federal law or lack of sufficient funding.

The Board of Supervisors Chambers is located at 330 Fair Lane.
