DJ, facepainting and lots of donuts mark Rainbow Sprinkles grand opening

Rainbow Sprinkles Donuts and Frozen Yogurt held their official grand opening and ribbon cutting in South Lake Tahoe on Saturday, bringing out a parking lot full of fans and future fans.

Jody Filgo and Sallie Ross-Filgo opened the doors of their shop in January, 2017, but with the heavy, and long, winter, they wanted to wait until weather was nicer to roll out the official red carpet. Plus, Saturday was just a day after National Donut Day!

"Jody and I are so grateful for the community's support," said co-owner Sallie Ross-Filgo. "We're so happy to serve South Lake Tahoe."

Their celebration Saturday included Owen Avila from JJ Entertainment who served as the DJ for the event, rainbow face painting by Bev Fuchs and Miss Elite California Legacy US Jodi Guzzo Martin. Hundreds of donut holes were given away, along with rainbow sunglasses and raffle prizes.

The Tahoe Chamber was there to have Jody and Sallie cut the ribbon as well.

"Thanks to all our friends and family in the community who came out to see us," Sallie posted on their Facebook page. "Thanks to all our employees, we love and appreciate all of you."

Rainbow Sprinkles is located adjacent to Raley's at the Y, 1036 Emerald Bay Rd. They are open daily from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
