STATELINE, Nev. - The Douglas County Redevelopment Area No. 2 (RDA#2) is gaining increased interest and is the focus of an upcoming commissioner meeting so the County has created a webpage to provide the public with history, materials, information and answers to frequently asked questions.
RDA#2 is from Stateline to the Lakeside Inn and Tahoe Beach Club on Kahle Drive. The original RDA was created in 1997 after the Tahoe Douglas Visitors Act gave authority to the Tahoe Douglas Visitors Authority to plan, construct and operate a convention center in the Tahoe Township. In 2015 the Douglas County Strategic Plan identified an initiative to work with local partners and stakeholders to initiate the development of a year-round conference/entertainment venue at Lake Tahoe.
The Douglas County Board of County Commissioners is scheduled to hear an item at their June 20, 2019 1:30 p.m. meeting to discuss “the procedures under NRS 279.608 to amend, deviate from, or dissolve redevelopment plans and area boundaries and to provide direction to staff regarding the possible commencement of such procedures for Douglas County Redevelopment Area No. 2.”
