Zalanta in South Lake Tahoe celebrates grand opening

The Zalanta Resort at the Village celebrated the completion of their first phase Tuesday with a grand opening and ribbon cutting for local dignitaries.

On what was formerly known as "the hole," Zalanta is the first whole ownership luxury condominium residences in the Lake Tahoe Basin since Lakeland Village was completed 30 years ago.

The 30 residences are all one-story and available in 2-, 3- and 4-bedroom units. The cheapest unit, priced at $950,000, and the most expensive at $2.125M have both sold as well as several other residences. The second phase will add another 60 residences.

"You can park your car and get everywhere by walking...this property truly meets those needs," said Susan Lowe, Senior Broker and V.P of Chase International Real Estate, the company managing the sales.

Owners and guests can walk to restaurants, the Gondola, golfing, concerts, shopping, the beach, hiking trails, something Mayor Pro Tem Wendy David echoed.

"This is a great example of our future in the way we welcome guests," said David. "Its in the tourist core, wonderful accommodations in a walkable, bikeable area. It is transformational and we're in the midst of positive, exciting change."

When owners don't want to use their residences they can put them up for rent, if they desire. Vail Resorts is managing the hotel portion of Zalanta with 24-hour front desk and concierge services. There is a year-round heated pool, hot tubs, fitness center and ski/bike valet.

"I absolutely love it," said SLT City Manager Nancy Kerry. "its a real treat that everywhere you go in town now there is a renaissance and we can see it come to fruition.

“We are beyond thrilled to see the first phase of Zalanta coming to fruition and to fill a much-needed void in South Lake Tahoe,” said Ron Neville, vice president of hospitality for Vail Resorts’ Lake Tahoe and Park City regions. “Zalanta’s presence in South Lake Tahoe will up the ante for whole-ownership residences and luxury vacation rental accommodations.”

Zalanta owners can also take advantage of the Homeowner Affinity Program, which provides discounts and perks at numerous other Vail resorts, including lodging, retail, spas and golf.

“This is the luxury resort the Lake Tahoe Basin has been waiting for,” said Mike Dunn, listing agent at Zalanta Resort at the Village. “Buyers are thrilled to see a newly constructed upscale development that allows owner use and great investment opportunities through its year round vacation rentals.”
