Barton Health welcomes new urologist to their staff

Baron Health is pleased to announce Board-certified Urologist, Brian Steixner, MD, has joined its team of care providers. Dr. Steixner is the Medical Director of Barton Urology and now providing a variety of urological services and treatments for men and women including incontinence, urinary tract infections, kidney stones, prostate cancer, urinary tract cancer, vasectomy and vasectomy reversals.
“Understanding patients’ medical conditions and personalizing treatment plans that help them to better health is something I care deeply about,” says Dr. Steixner. “I share Barton’s priority of providing safe, quality care for the community.”
Dr. Steixner most recently served as Chief at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center’s Urology Division in New Jersey and was a Clinical Associate Professor of Surgery in Urology at the University of Pennsylvania. He is certified by the American Board of Urology and a member of the American Urologic Association, American College of Surgeons, American Medical Association, as well as the American and International Societies for Men’s Health.
After completing his General Surgery training at the University of Pennsylvania, Dr. Steixner continued with specialized training in urology at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. During his surgical training, he received the Clinical Excellence Award in Urology from the University of Pennsylvania and the Resident Achievement Award from the Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons. Dr. Steixner said he enjoys skiing, hiking, and running. He added that he is delighted to be practicing at Lake Tahoe and spend time outdoors with his wife, daughter and son.
