Soroptimist International of Tahoe Sierra invites community to a Brain Health discussion

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The Soroptimist International Club of Tahoe Sierra (SITS) invites the community to their weekly meeting on Thursday, February 27 when they feature Barton Health's Neurology Specialist, Rituparna Das, MD. The doctor will share insights on brain function and brain health.

The meeting will be from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. at the South Lake Tahoe Senior Center, 3050 Lake Tahoe Blvd. Coffee will be served and both men and women are invited.

Neurology is a branch of medicine dealing with disorders of the nervous system, such as Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, epilepsy, stroke, vertigo and memory conditions such as Alzheimer’s Dementia.

Dr. Das joined Barton Health almost one year ago. She earned her medical degree at the Medical College of Georgia, and a Bachelor of Science at Emory University. Her passion for patient education and care shows with the high patient satisfaction scores she’s received, in addition to being peer-nominated as a Top Doctor by
Houstonia Magazine in 2013. Prior to moving to South Lake Tahoe she was at Adventist Health Feather River Hospital in Paradise, Calif. She is also board-certified and experienced in rural health care systems.

SITS was chartered on Friday, March 4, 1977. Their 31st annual fundraiser, Elegant Evening, will be held on Saturday, April 18 at Harrah's Tahoe.
