New ear, nose, throat specialist joins Barton Health

Barton Health has welcomed Alexander Manteghi, DO, to the team of providers as its new Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) physician in South Lake Tahoe. Dr. Manteghi
is treating children and adults, delivering a full array of surgical and non-surgical ENT medical services; including allergy therapy, treatments for ear and throat infections, sinus and nasal issues, head and neck illnesses, snoring, voice, and hearing problems.

“Dr. Manteghi shares Barton’s commitment to providing high-quality care, and his expertise brings an elevated level of medical treatments for our patients,” said Dr. Matthew Wonnacott, Chief Medical Officer at Barton Health. “By increasing access to ENT services, our community can receive highly specialized care without having to travel long distances.”

While Dr. Manteghi treats many ENT-related problems, he has a special interest in pediatric otolaryngology, sinus surgery, and neck masses. He is a fellowship-trained, board-certified pediatric and adult otolaryngology (ear, nose, and throat) specialist.

Dr. Manteghi earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from The Ohio State University and a Master of Medical Science Degree from Drexel University College of Medicine. Following medical school at Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine, Dr. Manteghi completed a general surgery internship and an Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery residency at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Manteghi went on to complete a pediatric
otolaryngology fellowship at the University of California San Diego (Rady Children’s Hospital).

He is a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery, a Fellow of the American Society of Pediatric Otolaryngology, and is board-certified by the American Osteopathic College of Ophthalmology and Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery.

Prior to moving to the South Lake Tahoe area, Dr. Manteghi served as an Attending Pediatric Otolaryngologist at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children in Philadelphia, PA. There, he served as the Director of the Pediatric Aerodigestive Clinic teaching numerous medical students and residents along the way. He is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at Drexel University College of Medicine.

In his free time, Dr. Manteghi and his wife appreciate spending time outdoors hiking, camping, and being on the water. Dr. Manteghi shares that he is looking forward to enjoying Lake Tahoe’s world class skiing this winter, and mountain biking in the summer.
