COVID-19 case update for Lake Tahoe area counties

EL DORADO COUNTY, Calif. - El Dorado County health officials have announced 15 new cases of COVID-19 since Friday, bringing the total to 145.

The new cases are nine males, six females, seven ages 18-49, five in the 50-65 age group, and three 65 and older.

There were nine new cases in the Lake Tahoe region, three in Greater Placerville, two in Cameron Park/Shingle Springs, and one in El Dorado Hills. Since the local casinos opened on June 4 there have been 48 new cases of the coronavirus in the Lake Tahoe region of El Dorado County.

There have been six new recoveries, leaving 39 active cases. At this time there are no hospitalizations of confirmed COVID-19 patients.

An additional 1,518 tests were administered, bringing the total to 10,368. The Shingle Springs testing site closed June 22, leaving Lake Tahoe Community College as the only non-symptomatic testing location available in the County.

There have been 75 cases in the Lake Tahoe area (including South Lake Tahoe, Meyers, Strawberry, and Tahoma).

Quad-Counties - Carson City, Douglas, Storey, Lyon

Carson City Health and Human Services (CCHHS) is reporting nine new positive cases and no additional recoveries of COVID-19 in the Quad-County region. This brings the total number of cases to 289, with 209 recoveries and seven deaths, 73 cases remain active.

The new cases are:
• A male Carson City resident in his 50’s with no connection to a previously reported case.
• A female Carson City resident in her 40’s with no connection to a previously reported case.
• A male Lyon County resident in his 40’s with no connection to a previously reported case.
• A female Lyon County resident in her 50’s with no connection to a previously reported case.
• A male Lyon County resident in his 20’s with no connection to a previously reported case.
• A male Carson City resident in his 40’s with no connection to a previously reported case.
• A male Carson City resident in his 50’d with no connection to a previously reported case.
• A female Douglas County resident in her 30’s with connection to a previously reported case.
• A female Douglas County resident in her 40’s with no connection to a previously reported case.

Carson City Health and Human Services is working to identify close risk contacts to prevent further spread of the disease. Due to medical privacy requirements and to protect their identity, no further information about the case will be released

The Regional Information Center is reporting an additional COVID-19-related death in Washoe County. There have been 98 COVID-19-related deaths in Washoe County.

27 of the confirmed cases to date are in Incline Village with 7 active ones, and one recovered case in Crystal Bay.

Placer County

There have been 43 new cases of confirmed COVID-19 in Placer County since Friday, with three of them from the Lake Tahoe area.
