More victims come forward in South Lake Tahoe day care center sexual assault case

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Additional victims from the Pequenos Rascals Learning Center have come forward in the child sexual assault case against one of the licensees, David Rodriguez-Flores. Sr.

The South Lake Tahoe Police Department, (SLTPD) received information on June 15 of an on-going possible child sexual assault that had occurred at the child care center located at 3336 Sandy Way. Multiple victims came forward and reported a pattern of abuse dating back at least two years.

SLTPD’s investigation revealed probable cause and the 55-year-old suspect was arrested on June 20, 2018 after an arrest warrant was obtained. Rodriquez-Flores was taken into custody without incident.

The California Department of Social Services’ Community Care Licensing Division has issued a suspension order for Pequenos Rascals Learning Center pending final outcome of the appeal process and legal action. The suspect's daughter and her husband are the owners of the facility, and both he and his wife, along with his in-laws, were employed there.

SLTPD does not suspect any other staff or family members in this case according to Lt. Shannon Laney.

Rodriquez-Flores is currently in the El Dorado County Jail in South Lake Tahoe on charges of lewd or lascivious acts on a person under the age of 14. His bail has been $4,100,000.
