The man whose unconscious body was found on June 25 near a jet ski on Lake Tahoe has been identified.
A passerby found 21-year-old Jawahar Kaliyamurthy floating near the unoccupied jet ski east of Meeks Bay at about 11:38 a.m. on the 25th, called for help, pulled the man from the water and began CPR.
Boats from the El Dorado County Sheriff's and Placer County Sheriff's offices responded. CPR was continued as the Placer Marine 6 boat transported Kaliyamurthy to the Cave Rock boat ramp where Tahoe Douglas Fire Department met them.
Lifesavings efforts failed and the male was pronounced deceased.
Douglas County Sheriff's office is handling the case, and have said the cause of death is still pending, but the next of kin have been notified. The investigation is still ongoing.
