Temperatures rising; Chance of rain and thunderstorms next week

Above average temperatures return this weekend through next week with some areas at lower elevations reaching 100 degrees. We will see afternoon and evening breezes each day through Monday, with lighter winds for the rest of next week. There will be increasing chances for showers and thunderstorms by mid to late next week.

Temps will be in the 80s and above average but forecast highs are not going to be record breaking in South Lake Tahoe.

Sunday - Sunny, with a high near 85. Southwest wind 5 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.

Sunday Night - Mostly clear, with a low around 48. Southwest wind 10 to 15 mph decreasing to 5 to 10 mph in the evening. Winds could gust as high as 25 mph.
