Joe Pavelski holds onto lead at American Century Championship

STATELINE, Nev. - San Jose Shark star Joe Pavelski kept his lead during round two of the American Century Championship in Lake Tahoe Saturday, finishing his round one point ahead of three-time champion and former MLB pitcher Mark Mulder.

Mulder shot a 5-under-par 67 Saturday to close the gap with Pavelski who shot par.

Former Dallas Cowboy quarterback Tony Romo, who was at 4:1 odds to win, is sitting at third as they prepare for the final round at Edgewood Tahoe on Saturday.

"One of my goals today was to stay aggressive and get those putts to the hole and aim at a few flags, and try to get that ball in the hole," said Pavelski. "I was able to make four or five birdies today. It goes along way in this event. I hung in there in a good position. I'm excited to play with the guys tomorrow."
