Douglas County Sheriff's Office seeks public's help in locating Anthony Robert Diaz

7/23/14 update: After a manhunt lasting several hours, Douglas County Sheriff’s Deputies located Anthony Robert Diaz on July 22, 2014 at approximately 11 p.m. walking near Pine Nut Road in Gardnerville. Diaz’ 12 year old son was with him, and was safely recovered and returned to his mother. Diaz was arrested for ex-felon possession of a firearm, and child endangerment. Diaz remains in custody in the Douglas County Jail in Minden, and his bail has been set at $50k.

The Douglas County Sheriff's Department is asking for the public's help in locating Anthony Robert Diaz, a man wanted for questioning in connection to a domestic dispute and ex-felon in possession of a firearm.

On Tuesday, July 22, 2014, at approximately 6 p.m., DCSO responded to the 600 block of Derby Ct. in the Gardnerville Ruhenstroth area for a report of a domestic dispute. Upon arrival, deputies learned that Anthony Robert Diaz was involved in a verbal dispute with his wife, and had fled the scene on foot prior to the arrival of Deputies. Deputies learned that Diaz was also possibly armed with a semi-automatic handgun.

Diaz is described as 37 year old male, 5’11” tall, weighing approximately 175 lbs. Diaz may be accompanied by his 12 year old son.

Douglas County Sheriff’s Deputies were assisted in their search by the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office Raven 1 helicopter. At this time the search continues, and anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Anthony Robert Diaz is asked to call Douglas County Dispatch at: 775-782-5126.
