COVID-19 case update for Lake Tahoe area counties

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - El Dorado County health officials have announced another 22 confirmed cases of COVID-19, 12 of those in the Lake Tahoe region, five in Cameron Park/Shingle Springs/Rescue, four in El Dorado Hills and one in the North County.

Of those new cases, four are under the age of 18, 14 in the 18-49 age group, three aged 50-64, one aged 65 and over.

There have been 13 additional recoveries leaving 225 active cases. No new deaths have been reported, leaving that total at one, a South Lake Tahoe man. There have been no changes to those in the hospital, with two currently in the ICU. There is one person in the ICU with a suspected case of COVID-19.

227 additional tests were administered, bringing that total to 16.707.

County-wide there have been 508 cases with 245 of those in the Lake Tahoe area (including South Lake Tahoe, Meyers, Strawberry, and Tahoma).

Quad-Counties - Carson City, Douglas, Storey, Lyon

Carson City Health and Human Services (CCHHS) is reporting twelve new positive cases and twenty- three additional recoveries of COVID-19 in the Quad-County region. This brings the total number of cases to 555, with 419 recoveries and nine deaths, 127 cases remain active.

The new cases are:
• A male Douglas County resident in his 60’s with no connection to a previously reported case.
• A male Douglas County resident in his 40’s with no connection to a previously reported case.
• A female Storey County resident in her 40’s with a recent travel history.
• A female Douglas County resident in her 40’s with no connection to a previously reported case.
• A female Douglas County resident in her 60’s with no connection to a previously reported case.
• A male Lyon County resident in his 60’s with no connection to a previously reported case.
• A male Douglas County resident in his 30’s with no connection to a previously reported case.
• A male Lyon County resident in his 60’s with no connection to a previously reported case.
• A female Douglas County resident in her 50’s with no connection to a previously reported case.
• A female Douglas County resident in her 50’s with a connection to a previously reported case.
• A female Douglas County resident in her 60’s with a connection to a previously reported case.
• A male Douglas County resident in his 20’s with no connection to a previously reported case.

Carson City Health and Human Services is working to identify close risk contacts to prevent further spread of the disease. Due to medical privacy requirements and to protect their identity, no further information about the cases will be released.

Washoe County

The Regional Information Center is reporting 90 new COVID-19 cases and no new deaths in Washoe County since yesterday.

59 (+2) of the confirmed cases to date are in Incline Village with 15 (+2) active ones, and one recovered case in Crystal Bay.

Placer County

There have been 89 new cases of confirmed COVID-19 in Placer County since yesterday, with three of those new cases in the Lake Tahoe area.

Their seven-day test rate is 7.3 percent positive, and 14-day case rate is 135 per 100,000.
