South Lake Tahoe and canine association team up to install agility equipment at Bijou Dog Park

The City of South Lake Tahoe and the South Lake Tahoe Police Canine Association are working in partnership to prepare and install the agility equipment at the Bijou Park.

After careful consideration and discussions with all of the City Departments involved in this project it has been decided that the dog agility park will be located across from the dog park instead of inside the current dog park. We believe this is a better option and will be easier to maintain.

The actual location will be next to the main parking lot across from the dog park. The Parks and Recreation Department has met with members of the Disc Golf Association and all parties are in agreement that this location is acceptable and will not interfere with disc golf course.

The fencing is in the process of being installed and the agility equipment has been ordered. The fencing should be completed by next week and the agility equipment should be ready in the next few weeks.

Once installed the agility equipment will be available to the public 24 hours a day, 7 day a week. The only exception is when the South Lake Tahoe Police K9 Unit is training in the agility park. These training sessions will last no more than 20-30 minutes a few days a month. The public is more than welcome to watch us train.

SLTPCA is seeking donations to help with the purchase and maintenance of the equipment. SLTPCA is a 501(c)(3) organization and all donations are tax deductible. Please visit our website at www.sltpca.org for more information or to contact us.
