Police ask for public's help in locating missing person in South Lake Tahoe

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - A 35-year-old man who was headed to South Lake Tahoe (SLT) to live and study has not been heard from, and his parents and the SLT Police Department are asking for the public's help in locating him.

Alexander Farquhar Mackenzie left his parent's house in Salinas, California in May of this year in a rental car, telling his parents he was headed for South Lake Tahoe.

Mackenzie emptied his bank account in late June, the same time he turned in his rental car in SLT. It was believed he was living in "the woods" at an unknown location. His parents reported him missing after not having contact with him.

Mackenzie is not wanted for any crimes and is not believed to be in any specific danger at this time, according to SLT Police Detective Justin Brock. The missing man is described as white, 5'9", 190 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes.

Anyone who may have information about this case is encouraged to call the South Lake Tahoe Police Department at 530-542-6100.
