Lake Tahoe fishing featured at two events beginning August 16

Event Date:
August 16, 2012 - 6:00pm

World class fishing at Lake Tahoe will be featured this month in a two-part series August 16 and again on August 18, hosted by the Tahoe Center for Environmental Science.
The Lake Tahoe Basin has numerous opportunities for fly fishing, but also has a limited season. Join local fishing expert Victor Babbitt to learn about how, where and when to fish in and around Lake Tahoe at a presentation on August 16 at the Tahoe Center for Environmental Sciences building in Incline Village, 291 Country Club Drive.
Babbit will discuss many local fishing options and will allow plenty of time for questions and answers. It will be like walking into your local fly shop and getting the skinny on fishing in the area.

Babbitt is owner/guide of Tahoe Fly Fishing Outfitters in South Lake Tahoe, a full-service fly shop and guide service. He coordinates 10 local guides and fishing/hunting trips throughout the region. He is also a Fish & Game Commissioner in El Dorado County and has been involved with recreational fishing and conservation issues in the area for more than 30 years.
There are five watersheds within a few hours’ drive including the Carson and Walker Rivers where he sends most of his clients. If you have any questions, want directions, or want to learn a secret or two this is an event for you. If there is one thing Babbitt enjoys, it is talking about fishing.
The program begins at 6 p.m., no host bar at 5:30 p.m.
Meanwhile, Fishing Around Lake Tahoe, Part 2 will continue with fly-casting instruction, tying demonstrations, and tips on how and where to fish in and around Lake Tahoe. The program, open to angers of all ages, will be on Saturday, August 18, at the UC Davis Tahoe City Field Station, 2400 Lake Forest Road, Tahoe City.
