Two people have minor injuries after helicopter crash lands in Douglas County

A helicopter with two occupants crash landed near the Horsebend area of Gardnerville on Tuesday afternoon.
The pilot, Doyle Holden and his passenger, Karen Cole, had been fishing on the nearby Carson River. After fishing, they attempted to take off and experienced a malfunction and crashed landed. Holden and Cole suffered minor injuries, and contacted another pilot who flew in and transported them out of the area.
Douglas County Sheriff's Department was notified after Holden and Cole arrived at the Medical Center.
The National Safety and Transportation Board was notified and they are investigating the incident.
